【外信コラム】ロンドンの甃 日本海が危ない！
欧州で日本海の呼称がどう扱われているのか取材した。ベルリンの壁博物館を訪れた知人から
「展示物の世界地図や地球儀から『日本海』の表記が抹消され、ボールペンで『東海』や『朝鮮海』と
書き込まれていた」と聞いたからだ。
同博物館のアレクサンドラ・ヒルデブラント理事長は「２年前から落書きが始まった。
誰かが『東海』などに書き換えると、次の人が『日本海』に書き換えるということが頻繁に起きる。
落書き防止用のガラスで覆うことも考えたが、根本的な解決にならないので
日本、韓国両政府と国連に手紙を書く」と話した。
英紙タイムズのデータベースにも「日本が朝鮮半島を植民地支配した１９１０～４５年に、
日本海として広く知られるようになった」と、韓国の言い分通りの“歴史”が書かれているのには驚いた。
韓国政府は欧米で一方的な調査を行い、日本が朝鮮半島を植民地支配するまでは「東海」や「朝鮮海」の
呼称が圧倒的に多かった、との資料を作成し、各国に「東海」と表記するよう申し入れている。
世界各国の地図や航空会社の路線図、新聞記事が「日本海」（Ｓｅａ ｏｆ Ｊａｐａｎ）と表記されていなかったら、
根気よく訂正を求めていただきたい。「日本海」の呼称は江戸後期から世界に広まっていたのだから。（木村正人）

- 小さすぎて読めないんだけど日本海にはبحر يابانつまり「日本の海」て書いてある
日本の東岸には濃い字でمملكت يابان「日本の王国」
その上はجزائر「島々」までは読めたんだけど次がわからない。クリルкурилてことでكوريلかなぁ
東シナ海は小さすぎて判読不能。
その他大陸にはبلاد الصين「シナの国々」と書いてある

GEBCO chart Sea of Japan
GEBCO is stand for "General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans", one of the foundamental international association of chart study, established by Prince Albert I of Monaco in the chair

Consequently, the 7th International Geographic Congress (Berlin, 1899) nominated a Commission on sub-oceanic nomenclature, which was also responsible for the publication of a general bathymetric chart. The Commission convened in Wiesbaden (April 15-16, 1903), with Prince Albert I of Monaco in the chair, and adopted the characteristics defined in a memorandum by J. Thoulet. The 24 sheets of Carte générale bathymétrique des océans printed in Paris in 1905, hastily prepared, were harshly criticised by E. de Margerie.
The description of Sea of Japan as follows;
1st edition (1904) Sea of Japan : Bassin du Japon
Strait of Korea:nil
Broughton bay:nil
Yellow Sea:nil
East (China) Sea:nil
2nd edition (1914) Sea of Japan : Mer du Japon
Strait of Korea:Det de Tsushima
Broughton bay:nil
Yellow Sea: Mer Jaune
East (China) Sea:Mer Du Cin Orientale
Concrusion,
"Sea of Japan" was used as intenrnational conventional words in each countries e.g. U.K, U.S ,France, German and so on. Those situation was quoted by International organization e.g. GEBCO on 1904 charts. So It can concluded that the Korean claims that "Sea of Japan is colonial/expansionist name" is distorure.
